Filing

U.S. Mail Filing

You may file any documents by U.S. Mail addressed to:

Martin E. Vittardi, Clerk of Court
Parma Municipal Court
5555 Powers Boulevard
Parma , Ohio 44129-5462

Documents sent by U.S. Mail are not filed until they are actually received by the Clerk. Documents not actually received by the Clerk for any reason, i.e. lost or stolen from the mail, shall not be deemed filed. You may send an extra copy of the document intended to be filed along with a self addressed stamped envelope and the Clerk will return a time stamped copy to you by mail as proof of filing. If the filing you are making requires a payment of a court cost, it must be enclosed with your mailing. Typically this applies in civil cases. If you are unsure then call (440) 887-7400 ext. 7416. Checks should be made payable to Martin Vittardi, Clerk of Court.

In Person Filing

You may come to the Clerk’s Office in person during regular business hours and file your documents. If you bring an extra copy, the Clerk will time stamp it for you as proof of filing.

Facsimile Filing

You may file any paper document by facsimile machine. You must comply with Local Court Rule 6. Facsimile filers should not mail the original paper document after the facsimile is transmitted to the Court, unless it is a Judgment Entry which closes a case. All documents filed by facsimile machine should be sent to (440)-887-7490 or (440)–887-7481 if it is a criminal case and (440)-887-7490 or (440) 887-7477, if it is a civil case. Your proof of filing of the document is THE Fax Transmittal Sheet generated by your facsimile machine.

Please review our "Filing by Facsimile" (RULE 14) in Parma Court Rules.
