Coronavirus Health Alert

Effective immediately, Parma Municipal Court will resume standard operations. Restrictions in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, imposed per Journal Entry Vo. 112 Page 69, Journal Entry Vo. 112 Page 112, and Journal Entry Vo. 112 Page 120, are no longer in effect. Parma Municipal Court is now open to the general public. Jury trials shall proceed as scheduled and masks remain optional for all visitors. Any person who wishes to conduct business in the courthouse is asked to refrain from doing so while ill.

Parma Municipal Court will continue to monitor Ohio Department of Health, CDC and Supreme Court of Ohio recommendations regarding COVID-19 health protocols. It’s the Court’s priority to ensure Court essential functions, duties and responsibilities are maintained along with protecting the health of the public, Court staff and Court visitors’.

About Us

The Parma Municipal Court was established by legislature in 1952 under chapter 1901.01 of the Ohio Revised Code. The court district boundaries cover an area of 71.9 sq. miles. The Court serves approximately 177,964 citizens, and handles nearly 30,000 filings annually of Traffic, Criminal, Parking and Civil matters. The Parma Municipal Court is a court of record.

The Parma Municipal Court has jurisdiction over the communities of Broadview Heights, Brooklyn, Brooklyn Heights, Linndale, North Royalton, Parma, Parma Heights, Seven Hills, as well as the Metroparks and Ohio Turnpike located in its boundaries, and approximately 10 other State and County Agencies.

The goal of the Parma Municipal Court is to maintain a fair, impartial and speedy resolution of the matters brought before it without unnecessary delays, and to safeguard the rights of the litigants in civil or criminal actions.
